Tents, Butterflies and the coolness of being home

God has soooooooooooooo blessed me with the option of staying home with my kids...yes we live very poorly in funds but not in heart, fun and spirit and that's all that matters to me...I am having a blast (well most days) and when everything in the day seems to go crazy and I'm having a rough day I remind myself of those days I worked a real job and had to do all the housework and cooking and take care of the kids after a long day of work...KUDOS to you working mom's...
Today I had a rough morning so I threw all caution to the wind painted butterflies moved all the furniture around in the living room and built a MASSIVE tent while the boys were napping...HELLO best day ever!

The silliness of Boys

Sink Baths

I don't know what it is about sink baths that makes me want to have about 50 children.....ohhhh SO CUTE!

No one like God

So we are all riding in the car the other day and Jacob says...mommy what's this song saying (Our God is Greater) I said it says "there is no one like our God"...Jake says Mommy "why does no one like God...we love God right"
:) Oh my...

FUZZ monsters

So I cannot remember the last night that we slept completely through the night without interruption. Last night at 2am Jacob said there was FUZZ MONSTERS in his room....although I am not sure what a FUZZ MONSTER is I was convinced he needed mommy so we went to the couch and snuggled till morning much to my sleep demise. At 2am I snuggled and rubbed his sweet little arm till he went to sleep but we both woke up extremely grumpy...next time the FUZZ MONSTERS come to attack...I will be prepared with a dryer sheet...which I will convince him is the ultimate weapon against all FUZZ.

85 degrees in March

So it's been so warm here that I would not be surprised AT ALL if in the middle of June me and the kids are swimming in the pool and suddenly a cloud approaches and begins to storm SNOW!
Seriously this is insane...the kids are loving it though. So funny that on campus one 80 degree day brings out the girls in mini skirts, short shorts and guys decide they no longer need shirts. I had to chuckle the other day as Jacob was eating lunch a girl with a VERY short mini skirt walked behind his chair...he turned around and followed her with his eyes...oh my...the Bible is right about the sinful nature right...not that he sinned at 3 but he just already sees mmmmm that appeals to my eyes for some reason...and every time we are outside the boys big to take there shirts off like the college students.
Here are some memories from our latest visit to the quad here at PSC...the boys attract a lot of attention from the students who always come to say hi...what a great opportunity to love on some students who are probably missing home and their families...this guy came to pitch ball to Ben on this day and Ben smacked a ball that hit him right in the knee cap...lol...he said I'm so sorry and giggled...the guy smiled ear to ear and said I think we should let your mom pitch lol!

A little longer God's plea for busy mom's

Today I sat down in front of the computer and I turned on Spotify looking for some relaxing music...Jenn Johnson's A little longer came on...
I felt the Lord saying sit down...listen...so I did...I closed my eyes and began to focus on Him...As a wife there are days that my husband literally sweeps me off my feet...regardless of the house, the kids...it's just him and I at that moment...today my Heavenly father...swept me off my feet in that way...
As this song played the tears flowed....the words run in my ears "let the housework go...the kids can wait...please stay here with me and love on me a little longer" As I rested in Him and repeated this song over and over The Lord spoke to my heart...He showed me the craziness of my life and that He is jealous for me...jealous for my time and my affection...my brain power...He just wanted me at that moment...and oh what a relief it was to rest in Him...
I felt led to share with others who might view this blog...you don't have to do anything just simply let things go and let your heavenly Father steal you away...love on Him and He will love on you...He's longing for your time...please look this song up...let it witness to your heart busy mom's...love ya ladies...

Ben can tie his SHOES!
